Little Sparrow will officially open in the former JCT space on October 2. Inspired by Parisian bistros and old Brooklyn neighborhood taverns, it will be an American brasserie serving simple fare using premium ingredients and classic techniques.

Chicheria MX Kitchen to bring Baja flavors to the Works

Chicheria MX Kitchen comes from the team behind Buena Vida Tapas & Sol, Juan Sebastian Calle and Adam Berlin. A Baja-inspired spot, it’s intended to bring a new style of Mexican food to the area, focusing on nutrient-rich, vegetable-laden items made in house. Top Chef alum Whitney Otawaka consulted on the menu, which executive chef Alejandro Tamez (Otawaka’s former sous chef) will implement.
Bar Diver

Richard Tang brings the party to Westside Paper with Bar Diver

Richard Tang, owner of Korean barbecue eatery Char, Vietnamese seafood restaurant Girl Diver, and speakeasy Three Branches, is adding another name to his repertoire. Bar Diver is slated to open the third week in September in Westside Paper (950 West Marietta Street). Unlike sister spot Girl Diver, Bar Diver will be focused on small plates and feature a “cyber-punk, post-apocalyptic vibe.”

New Thai restaurant promises tiki bar fun on the Westside

A collection of hospitality veterans have banded together to try something new. Ivan Raintung (Mulan), Bell Chabchit (Osha Thai), chef Santi Buaphaeng (Silom Thai), and executive chef Varee "Nam" Somanee (Blue Elephant Thai in Bangkok), along with Erny Liauw and Praim Siribothi, have taken over the former Chin Chin space on Howell Mill Road and turned it into a trendy spot for dining and imbibing.
