On July 25, the undead will fill the streets (and bar stools) during the annual Atlanta Zombie Pub Crawl. We asked crawl cofounder and special effects artist Luke Godfrey about how to get that “fresh from the crypt” look.
Season 5 of The Walking Dead hasn't even premiered yet (for those setting DVRs, the show returns this Sunday at 9 p.m.), but AMC's faith in the top-rated drama clearly hasn't wavered—the network announced today that the show has been renewed for a 6th season.

At one point during this month’s cover shoot, I looked around and counted more than fifteen people, all of whom—except for me—were integral parts of the whole production. There was the photographer, the photographer’s two assistants, the stylist, the assistant stylist, the zombie hand models, the makeup artist for the actors, the makeup artist for the zombie hands, our design director, two publicists, various hotel employees, and, at the center of it all, Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus, stars of *The Walking Dead*.
The faux dialog replacing actual TWD scripts is funny—in a juvenile way. Rick loses his banjo; Glenn breaks wind; Rick attempts to tell a knock-knock joke, etc.
I don't know about you; but I spend half of each Walking Dead episode squinting at the scenery trying to figure out exactly where in metro Atlanta—aka zombie capital of the USA—that particular zombie gut spill occurred. The good folks at the Walking Dead Locations fan site have put together a helpful Google map that you can use to track the location of every kill, splat, and melodramatic Glenn-Maggie spat. Enjoy
