There’s nothing quite like outdoor adventure to bring families together. Fresh air, wide open beaches, beautiful parks, and a hearty dose of outdoor activities are waiting for you in Martin County. If you want to get outside while you get away, Martin County offers a great balance of relaxation and adventure. Active families will enjoy exploring the region’s quaint communities where the locals welcome you, and your day can be as thrilling or relaxing as you choose.

A World Away, But Not Far Away

Nestled on the east coast of Florida, just north of West Palm Beach and just south of Orlando, Martin County is a great, convenient road-trip destination. Head out in the morning and have your toes in the sand that afternoon. Miles of untouched, pristine beaches overlooking the Atlantic Ocean are ready to greet you upon arrival. But don’t be fooled—Martin County is so much more than just a beach vacation. Surrounded by natural beauty, warm local hospitality, and a relaxed atmosphere, Martin County is the perfect place for families to disconnect and make memories together.

Beyond the Beach

While you can enjoy the relaxing beaches every day, if a little more adventure is what your family seeks, Martin County has outdoor outings and activities that keep families as busy as they would like to be. Get out on the water with a paddle board or a kayak tour. If you’re interested in catching your dinner, a half- or full-day sport fishing charter is a great option for kids of all ages. Snorkeling and diving enthusiasts will find days of adventure. Martin County’s reef program boasts over 100 sites for exploratory diving and over 14 natural and artificial reefs. Enjoy the Atlantic peacefully from the shore or dive in for a host of aquatic adventures.

Nature Calling

Has there ever been a better time to re-connect with nature? Martin County is home to the most biologically diverse lagoon ecosystem in the Northern Hemisphere. Explore this natural beauty on your own in any of the numerous state parks and preserves. For a more interactive experience, visit the Hobe Sound Nature Center or the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center, where you can take part in a guided hike, visit local sea life in their natural habitat, or even participate in a “sea turtle walk” during June and July. There is no shortage of eco adventures for families looking to explore the outdoors.

Play Time

Kids of all ages can get out and play during their stay. Take the whole family to Sailfish Splash, Martin County’s waterpark that boasts two four-story waterslides for thrill seekers, an interactive water playground for smaller visitors and lazy river for anyone looking to relax the day away. Parents and kids will love learning and playing with hands-on activities at The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast. If you’d like to map out your own playtime, choose from over 100,00 acres of parks and conservation lands within Martin County. There are plenty of places to play!

A Real Vacation

You won’t need a vacation after your vacation. Although there is no shortage of adventure available for active families, there are also plenty of ways to relax and recharge. Parents can visit knowing that they can achieve the perfect balance of fun for the kids and relaxation for themselves. Martin County offers an easygoing and welcoming atmosphere where families can be casual and comfortable whether they’re playing in the sand or enjoying a delicious family dinner in one of the many locally owned restaurants. While there’s plenty to do, there’s no need to plan and pack your itinerary. Many of Martin County’s adventures require no reservations, so families can enjoy a break from hectic schedules and see where they day takes them.

A uniquely beautiful and natural setting, miles of uncrowded beaches, and enough activities to keep the whole family entertained ensure that Martin County will become a destination that your family will want visit time and again.
