Atlanta is doubling for a number of other places in movies being shot here, ranging from Colorado and Florida (Identity Thief) to Panem (the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire). But trying to pass downtown Atlanta off as a certain city with a big ice-rink?

Apparently so. Crowds circled around an ice-skating rink and a makeshift stage that had suddenly appeared in the middle of the courtyard at the Peachtree Center today. Bags labeled “Paramount” held lighting fixtures and props, while workers moved quickly with ladders and tools to disassemble the set, a location in the upcoming Anchorman 2 movie. The crew has been shooting at various locations in Atlanta, and is set to continue filming in Downtown next week.

The movie, a sequel to the 2004’s beloved (by Will Ferrell fans, at least) Anchorman will be released by Paramount Pictures on December 20, 2013, and will feature the same cast, including Ferrell, Steve Carell, and Paul Rudd. In the new movie, Ron Burgundy and Co. relocate from San Diego to Atlanta New York.
