Dozens of local designers and trade professionals gathered on November 7 at the PDI Kitchen, Bath & Lighting showroom in Atlanta to celebrate the release of Quintessential Kitchens and Collaborations by Matthew Quinn, which is volume three in the author’s Quintessential Kitchens series. The event was sponsored by PDI and Atlanta Magazine’s HOME. Quinn is the chief executive officer of Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio and founder of the Matthew Quinn Collection, a luxury kitchen, bath, and architectural hardware showroom.

Following cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, attendees were welcomed to the event by Emilee Stone, vice president of marketing at PDI. Sean McGinnis, president and publisher of Atlanta Magazine’s HOME, then introduced Quinn, who moderated a panel discussion with Design Galleria colleagues Mary Kathryn Timoney, Jerel Lake, and Richard Anuszkiewicz on the importance of collaboration to the design process. Quinn also signed copies of his latest book.

Quintessential Kitchens and Collaborations is a 344-page, hardbound book that includes a curated collection of kitchens, bathrooms, dressing rooms, and other treasured spaces in homes from coast to coast. It chronicles the rewards—and challenges—of teamwork between architects, builders, interior designers, space planners, and other design professionals. “Collaboration, although not always easy, is the key to intelligent design,” Quinn says. “More minds create more layers, and it’s the layering of talent and perspectives that delivers the best outcomes.”
