We may be a long way from the world of Ready Player One, but VRGluv, a local startup, brings an interactive virtual-reality world slightly closer. They’re developing gloves with haptic feedback sensors, allowing users to “feel” the objects they see in VR games rather than coldly pressing a button on a handheld wand to interact with them. With VR headsets visually immersing players and haptic technology allowing them to feel the environment, we may one day have eSports competitors running and jumping in virtual worlds rather than just pressing buttons.
