Berry College

In 1902, Martha Berry started a school for local students. In return, she asked only that they help build and maintain it. What she understood 117 years ago works equally well today. Taking ownership of one’s education increases its impact—on our students’ character, on their professional readiness, and on the world they will help lead.

Here, students follow a purposeful four-year sequence of academic study, personal reflection, and hands-on professional development, guided at every step by mentors and supported by the resources needed for a stellar education and a happy life.

Ninety-seven percent of 2018 graduates report that a Berry education led to a job or acceptance into graduate or professional school. Professional school acceptance rates are 97 percent for medicine, 95 percent for law, and 82 percent for veterinary. Berry grads start their professional lives with impressive resumes. They are self-confident, principled, hardworking, and articulate—all qualities that help them get off to fast starts, whether in jobs or graduate school.

Nationally recognized for academic excellence and outstanding educational value, Berry is an independent, coeducational, comprehensive liberal arts college that offers an exceptional education balancing intellectual exploration, practical learning, and character development. Its 27,000-acre campus is the world’s largest.
