The second Kitchens for a Cause tour, held Saturday, October 4, marked a successful chapter for Meals On Wheels Atlanta. This year’s event drew more than 300 attendees and generated $60,000 to support senior citizens who struggle with hunger, food insecurity, and social isolation. Sponsored by Atlanta magazine, GEORGIA DESIGN, and Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio, the curated tour featured six kitchens in the Atlanta communities of Buckhead and Sandy Springs.
“This year’s event set a new standard,” said Sean McGinnis, president and publisher of Atlanta magazine and GEORGIA DESIGN. “Every space was so thoughtfully planned, and attendees had a chance to see the very best in kitchen design, from innovative storage to state-of-the art appliances.”
Visitors were inspired by the craftsmanship of local architects, builders, and kitchen and interior designers, many of whom were on hand to talk with attendees. On display were the latest styles in cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, flooring, lighting, appliances, and other practical and decorative elements of kitchen design. “We’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests about this year’s tour,” said Matthew Quinn, founder and CEO of Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio. “It’s an honor to be part of an event that brings the design community and design enthusiasts together for such a great cause.”
A VIP reception followed the tour at the Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove showroom where guests enjoyed food and cocktails and participated in a silent auction. Charlene Crusoe-Ingram, CEO of Meals On Wheels Atlanta, joined Quinn and McGinnis in thanking attendees for their support. “I’m deeply grateful for the generosity shown today,” she said. “We raise most of our funding through private donations, and your contributions help ensure that our food insecure seniors receive nourishing meals and maintain important social connections.”
Presenting sponsors for the kitchen tour were Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio, Downsview Kitchens, and Subzero, Wolf, and Cove. Featured sponsors included the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC), Ciot, Distinctive Appliances, Ellis Team, Ferguson Home, François & Co., GHT Group, La Cornue, Matthew Quinn Collection, PDI, Stone Pro, and Timoney Construction.
