Survey: Atlanta ranks No. 8 for good-looking people

It’s always a beautiful day in the ATL
1950

Atlanta, you are beautiful.

06_JUN_1995-photosize-It’s easier to say this on a 65-degree day in December (sorry, Yankees), but we’ve always thought this city and its citizens are prettier than most (for proof, see our June 1995 cover on the right).

Now it’s official.

In a recent reader survey by Travel + Leisure ranking America’s Most and Least Attractive People, our fairer than fair metro came in at No. 8.

We may not have the hard bodies of No. 1 Miami, the sun-drenched beaches of second-place San Diego, or the ample brainpans of No. 5 Providence (if you’re into the whole “intelligent conversation” thing). But the magazine lauds our prolific luxury shopping, hot singles scene, and emerging cocktail industry. Because, let’s face it, everything looks better through booze goggles.
