As a child, when Woodstock-born WWE superstar Bronson “Bron Breakker” Rechsteiner watched YouTube clips of his father Rick Steiner and uncle Scott Steiner—aka the WWE Hall of Fame tag team The Steiner Brothers—he knew his destiny.
The Steiner Brothers electrified audiences throughout the ’90s with their dynamic, intense style of wrestling. Rechsteiner was determined to carry the family legacy.
“I always knew that I loved this business and that this business was meant for me,” he says. “ … I’m a blessed man to be able to grow up in that environment and have those tools and guidance from, not only The Steiner Brothers, but many other veterans around that time that wanted to see young guys like myself succeed.”
Rechsteiner, now 28, signed with the WWE at the age of 23 in February 2021. He spent roughly three years competing in the WWE’s developmental brand NXT where his explosive athleticism and clear dominance gained him a reputation as one of the industry’s most exciting prospects. He captured the 2022 NXT Championship.
Rechsteiner made his official WWE main roster debut in 2024. He has shared the ring with some of the biggest names in the business, including Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins.

Before becoming Bronn Breakker, Rechsteiner was a running back at Kennesaw State University. Working with greats athletes and coaches at KSU, he says, played a huge part in “shaping him into the man he is today.”
“The same practices and the same life lessons that I learned while being an Owl at Kennesaw State are the same way I carry myself and my business today,” he adds. “I can’t say enough good things about the people, the staff, and the university. It’s a wonderful place to be. And it’s also a place to be if you want to win.”
Despite his jam-packed schedule, which has him jet-setting around the world with the WWE, Rechsteiner still makes time to watch his Owls soar.
“We are very quickly becoming an extreme threat in college football,” he says of the Owls. “We’re a team that people should keep an eye out for. I wouldn’t be surprised if in the next few years we make a college football playoff appearance … It’s an exciting thing to have been a part of.”
On September 6, Rechsteiner will be back in his old stomping grounds as Bron Breakker, facing off against Oba Femi at Sunday night’s WWE Main Event at 8 p.m. at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. The fight will be streamed on Peacock.
Femi is projected to win; but not if Bron Breakker has anything to say about it.
“A lot of people are going to get a slice of humble pie because I’m going to embarrass this guy,” he says. “He’s going to get tired extremely fast and will quit soon after that because everyone can be a tough guy when they feel great, but when he can’t breathe and his legs are gone, he’s going to quit. It’s going to be beautiful to watch … This business runs in my blood.”
