Atlanta Magazine Names Award-Winning Journalist Allison Entrekin Editor-in-Chief
Atlanta, GA — February 17, 2026 — Atlanta magazine has named award-winning journalist Allison Entrekin its new Editor-in-Chief, ushering in a new era of leadership as the publication marks 65 years of covering the city with authority, creativity, and credibility.
Entrekin brings more than 20 years of editorial experience and deep Atlanta roots to the role. She began her career at Jezebel and later held editor positions at Competitor Magazine Southeast and Flavors. In 2010, she became the founding Editor-in-Chief of Simply Buckhead. Since joining Atlanta Magazine Custom Media in 2013, she has served as executive editor of Southbound and editor of the Georgia Travel Guide, earning multiple honors for her work, including two National Lowell Thomas Awards. Her writing has appeared in USA TODAY, The Telegraph, Cigar Aficionado, and Travel + Leisure. In 2023, she published the Amazon bestselling children’s book The Goose Who Talked to the Wind.
“I’m honored to lead a publication that has covered Atlanta with depth and heart for 65 years,” Entrekin says. “My focus is on elevating visual storytelling, strengthening reporting, and delivering stories that matter to the people who live here.”
Under Entrekin’s leadership, Atlanta magazine will emphasize photography and design, enlist important contributor voices, and sharpen digital storytelling across atlantamagazine.com and social media platforms. She also plans to expand dining coverage across print and digital, reimagine travel reporting around nonstop destinations from Atlanta, and grow the Scout section spotlighting local makers and trendsetters.
