Whether you like experimental or the next big thing, metro Atlanta has a theater for everyone. Want to see a Broadway show before anyone else? Midtown’s Alliance Theatre has bred hits like Sister Act and Tony Award-winners such as Aida. Little Five Points’ Horizon Theatre puts on original regional dramas and Christmas classic The Santaland Diaries, and casts a wide net for the next big thing with the New South Play Festival. Downtown’s Theatrical Outfit and Lawrenceville’s Aurora Theatre are powerhouses in their own right, but often collaborate to bring some of the best big shows to town, from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights to The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
