New all-day eats: The Canteen

The concepts that make up the Canteen, which the General Muir’s Todd Ginsberg and his partners opened near Georgia Tech in June, aren’t necessarily new, but packed into what they’re calling a “micro food hall” (along with a bar serving smoothies and juices in the morning and wine and cocktails later on), they feel fresh. Plus, there are some menu items unique to this space: a pumpernickel bagel at TGM Bagel and a blackened tuna sandwich with bacon and avocado at Fred’s Meat & Bread, which also offers six-inch subs in addition to the nine-inch versions you can find at Krog Street Market. But the freshest thing about the Canteen is its location; Tech Square has long been in need of something better than Subway. thecanteenatl.com
