There may be no better plant for an Atlanta garden than the South’s signature shrub, the hydrangea. Miami Circle
Yes, this top 50 list is about stores that offer new furniture, and this design district had its origins as a source for fine European antiques, with storied galleries like the Gables Antiques and third-generation dealers William Word Antiques—both dating back to the 1970s and still drawing clients from around the country. However, many of the Circle’s more than 60 showrooms, such as Acquisitions, Joseph Konrad, and J. Tribble also offer custom and new furniture, so we’re cheating again and adding them all as one entry. The area remains a draw for objects with a provenance, with respected sources like Dearing Antiques (wicker, majolica, English pine), the Nicholson Gallery (industrial artifacts, midcentury, European), and perennial “Best of Atlanta” winner Foxglove Antiques & Galleries. The area has increasingly attracted other home décor showrooms that supply tile, framing, lighting, and rugs. In the last 10 years, a wave of art galleries (Pryor, Anne Irwin, Bill Lowe, Thomas Deans) has joined pioneer Reinike Gallery.

Founded in 1987, Casual Image is a family-owned local source for outdoor furniture, kitchens, fireplaces, and related accessories. Visit this 55-acre center in North Fulton to find an assortment of shrubs, trees, perennials, annuals, and tropicals. What began as a Christmas tree business in 1982 now includes a cafe, a garden center, vegetables, a bird department, and gardening supplies. Ask about

Summer Classics
This Alabama-based company opened its 20,000-square-foot Roswell showroom in 2008. It specializes in high-quality outdoor furniture made of resin wicker, cast aluminum, teak, and iron. The store stocks a wide variety of styles and Sunbrella weather-resistant fabrics that are exclusive to Summer Classics.
Kolo Collection
Enter this outdoor furniture store through its sister boutique Atlanta Made, which carries gifts, furnishings, and seasonal products created by local artists. Kolo itself, one of the first retail shops in the Westside district, focuses on upscale outdoor furniture and accessories. Here you’ll find high-end manufacturers like Brown Jordan, Dedon, Tuuci, and Loll Designs.
Maple Ridge Nursery
Well off the beaten track, this East DeKalb nursery offers one of the most wide-ranging selections of hard-to-find cultivars of Japanese maples in the Southeast, a collector’s dream of unusual conifer cultivars, and more than 200 hosta varieties. All plants are Georgia-grown to ensure they are suited for the local climate.

Robert Brown, one of Atlanta’s top designers, opened his first retail store to fill Atlanta’s need for upscale home accessories. Look for unusual art, objects, and antiques from around the world, plus Brown’s own furniture lines.
