Grindhouse Killer Burgers

This lunch-only counter inside Sweet Auburn Curb Market—launched by young, hip Alex Brounstein—is the best thing that could have happened to a facility where good food has been in short supply. The concept is old-fashioned with a twist: A freshly ground, hand-patted blend of Angus chuck and brisket is available as a quarter-pound patty (single or double), or in a baby version for the slider combo.

Cooked to order and sandwiched into buttered, toasted potato buns, burgers can be topped with ingredients such as fresh-roasted green chiles, thick rashers of bacon, and real American cheddar. Crinkle fries, fresh onion rings, and thick, hand-spun shakes complete the feast. If you prefer tables over counter seating, check out Grindhouse’s second location at 1842 Piedmont Avenue.
