Modest, modern, and able to blend authentic culinary traditions with strong management, this second location of a small Indian cafe (the other is in Alpharetta) is part of a national chain but a good fit for the Emory Point mixed-use development across from the CDC. Orders placed at a small counter are promptly delivered to attractive tables. At lunch, count on abundant thalis (round serving platters) piled with curries, bread, rice, a small samosa, and raita. The signature biryanis include goat, chicken, egg, or vegetables cooked with an abundance of deftly seasoned basmati rice. Fun nibbles, such as crushed samosas mixed with yogurt or kadai paneer tossed with onions in a fiery sauce, will satisfy vegetarians. A small selection of beer and wine and a few Indian desserts complete the casual, winning formula.
