A marketing consultant who began his political career in 2002 as Cobb County commissioner, Lee is now known across Georgia as the man who stole the Braves from Atlanta. Eyes will be fixed on the Cobb Commission chairman as the team builds its new $672 million stadium just outside I-285—largely because county taxpayers are contributing nearly $400 million to the project. Lee was named Citizen of the Year in 2014 by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.

Earned Run Despite criticism and legal action over Lee’s secretive handling of the Braves deal, he announced this spring that he will be seeking reelection in 2016, ahead of the opening of the new stadium in 2017.
