Details: The Atlanta Preservation Center, which turns 40 this year, kicks off their annual celebration of historic sites with a wide variety of free events running all month long. Take walking tours of historic neighborhoods, buildings, and homes; explore cemeteries; listen to guest lectures, and more.

Atlanta Science Festival
When: March 6-21
Where: Various
Cost: Varies (but many are free)
Details: Another multi-week fest, this one focuses on all things STEM for both kids and adults. Go on a BeltLine scavenger hunt, learn to cook with microbes, study the science of honey, go on a bird-watching hike, and more.

Atlanta Brunch Festival
When:
March 7, 12-4 p.m.
Where:
Atlantic Station
Cost:
$50-$80
Details:
A ticket to this brunch extravaganza earns you unlimited Bloody Marys and mimosas, as well as beer and wine. Food samples are $3 each but will feature tastings from D.B.A. Barbecue, Butterly Biscuits, Another Broken Egg Cafe, The Lost Druid, Tex’s Tacos, Joy Cafe, Muchacho, and more.

Atlanta United vs Cincinnati FC
When: March 7, 7 p.m.
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Cost: $40+
Details: Atlanta United fans are still reeling after star striker Josef Martinez tore his ACL during last weekend’s season opener in Nashville, sidelining him for the foreseeable future, but spirits promise to still be plenty high as the 17s return home to get rowdy and proud. There’s also a pregame block party ($22) in Summerhill from 5-11 p.m. with food and drink specials from local restaurants, raffles, live entertainment, and more.

Details: The Atlanta Opera performs the Gershwin classic, a Depression-era love story set in the South.

Bonus event: Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Designer Showhouse
When: Through March 22
Where: 2716 Ridgewood Road, Atlanta
Cost: $25
Details: Atlanta magazine and Atlanta Magazine’s HOME produced this stunning showhouse in partnership the ASO, Harrison Homes, and ADAC. The design of the Northwest Atlanta home was inspired by a 1945 Atlanta Youth Symphony performance and will feature interior design from Matthew Quinn, Barbara Westbrook, Square Feet Studio, Dixon Rye, and more.
