When famed Parisian design house Chanel unveils its latest marquee this month, it won’t be in Buckhead—or even in Atlanta. Instead, its famous, streamlined, black-and-white logo will bedeck the walls at Alpharetta’s Avalon. The new 1,000-square-foot jewel box is the fifth of the brand’s Fragrance and Beauté boutiques in the U.S., which have landed in secondary markets like Long Island and Aventura, Florida, as part of a push to expand the storied house. At the brand’s first standalone boutique in the Atlanta area, expect a full line of cosmetics (hello, Pirate red lipstick), skincare, fragrances, and even eyewear, plus makeup consultations. Sure, those collections are available elsewhere nearby—like Neiman Marcus at Lenox Square and Saks Fifth Avenue at Phipps Plaza, which also carry Chanel’s ready-to-wear lines and handbags—but even ITPers will have to visit Avalon for exclusives like fragrances and palettes available only online or at Chanel boutiques. While couture and bags with price tags more than a monthly mortgage may be out of reach (and out of touch) for most of us, a $38 lipstick can buy a taste of that luxury.
