For 15 years Avril Joffe and her daughter, Cindy, have run their boho-chic jewelry company out of a studio in Sandy Springs. Their line, Avindy (get it?), is carried at major stores like Anthropologie, but their creations are still handmade. Last year they released a kit, Avindy DIY Jewelry Studio, containing gems like labradorite and smoky quartz, along with wire, clips, clasps, and tools for making your own jewelry. The kits are sold at shops across the country, including Cindy’s new jewel box of a store at Peachtree Battle, River Mint Finery. The shop offers Avindy jewelry, yes, but also handbags (Clare V., Monserrat De Luca), candles, and local finds. This spring the store began hosting jewelry-making classes. “We’ve just been collecting for so long,” Cindy says of their gemstones. “We have buckets and buckets.”

For updates on classes, call 678-705-9297.
