It starts on the Decatur Square, ends at Peachtree Boulevard; and is an overall enlightening cultural journey amid many international businesses and places frequented by the gourmet crowd.

Inspired by their annual Greek Easter celebration, husband-and-wife team Sandy and Niki Papadopoulos are opening a casual Mediterranean restaurant called Karv Kitchen.

Athens Pizza has been in Sandy Papadopoulos’s family for 50 years and he’s celebrating—first with a party at the restaurant on Saturday and later with a new Greek and Mediterranean spot called Karv. Set to open in 2017, Karv is a partnership with Nicholas Sousounis, Kyma’s general manager, and will serve “old-school recipes centered around the rotisserie.”

There is dancing and general revelry, but eating is the core activity. The parade of meats roasting over open flames is impressive: a whole lamb on a spit, kondosouvli, lamb chops, and lamb fricassee. Greek dishes like spanakopita and dolmathes, plus an entire room of desserts, round out the feast.
