Now that the summer heat is gone for another year, film crews have returned, and in greater numbers. Here's our monthly roundup of where Atlanta's movies and TV shows have been spotted filming and which celebrities you might spot.
Sort of. Check out the trailer for Clint Eastwood's Trouble With the Curve below. The diner scenes were filmed in Home Grown, Kevin Clark's lovable Reynoldstown diner. Eastwood has his outburst of frustrated-male impatience about thirty seconds in. For the record, I've never had any trouble getting the check there.
Sometimes, less than stellar cell service can land you in front of a Hollywood legend. Last week, Atlanta publicist Nicholas Wolaver stepped outside of RiRa Irish pub in Midtown with his bar-challenged cellular device only to come face to face with Clint Eastwood. The 80-year-old actor-director is in town shooting the baseball drama "Trouble with the Curve" with Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake and John Goodman (unlike 2011's "J. Edgar," Eastwood is just acting in this film, letting his old pal Robert Lorenz call the shots as director).
