Nothing beats the patina of an authentic loft. John Cugasi’s condo in Fulton Cotton Mill Lofts (built in 1881) has 19-foot ceilings; 10-foot windows; and brick that has weathered a brush with the 2008 tornado, a dramatic fire in 1999, and decades of textile manufacturing. Kohl Sudnikovich, a design consultant with Cantoni, created a kitchen redo that marries modern furnishings with historical bones.

"Looking back on the last several years, I would have to say that more than half of the kitchens we’ve done were largely influenced by the men in the family. The idea that men go to work and women stay home in the kitchen is long gone."

Matthew Quinn, co-owner and principal/designer of ADAC’s Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio, has built an international reputation—winning virtually every industry award. We wanted to find out more about this hometown superstar, so we tracked him down for some serious and not-so-serious questions.

A simple oil painting provided unlikely inspiration for this kitchen redo in Roswell. “It was an old piece of art that I just had to have in the room,” says homeowner and interior designer Anisa Darnell.
