The Dome debuted August 23, 1992, with a Falcons preseason victory over the Eagles (Hammer kicked things off; John Denver sang the national anthem; Travis Tritt played halftime). But the arena’s quintessentially ’90s color scheme (think Color Me Badd CD cover) had already taken center stage. For some, the only shade more off-putting than those on the exterior (plum, aqua) and seats (various teals) was in the visitors locker room (salmon). Decor for the home team: gray, red, and black.
