Starting November 17, Daily Chew health food cafe replaces Yumbii’s the Queso Shop in Piedmont Heights. Serving breakfast and lunch from a takeout window, Daily Chew offers rotisserie items, pita sandwiches, and bowls made with local produce. Items can be taken to-go, ordered online for delivery, or enjoyed at the outdoor tables and chairs onsite.

Founded by Julia Kesler Imerman, owner of the catering and meal preparation company Stop Think Chew, Daily Chew features menu items inspired by Imerman’s South African and Jewish heritage.

“It’s the type of food I want to eat every day—bright, colorful, clean dishes,” she says.

“Brekkie” includes chai chia pudding, superfood overnight oats, and a smoked salmon and preserved lemon labneh bowl with mixed local greens, capers, dill, and sumac onions. Lunch features house-made rotisserie chickens (served as quarter, half, or whole, with sides), a daily changing quinoa bowl or salad, a daily pita, and seasonal soups. Cabbage compressed with vinegar and house spices, slightly braised, and crisped in the rotisserie, is served with hummus, pickled vegetables, green tahini, pita, and Calabrian aioli.

Side offerings include harissa roasted cauliflower, citrus-marinated beets, and fries. House-pressed juices come in unique flavors like savory yellow pepper, and gluten-free muffins are available. Select Stop Think Chew “provisions” like chicken tenders, chickpea salad, tahini tuna, and taco bean salad are also on the menu. (Stop Think Chew customers can also pick up their weekly order while at the window.)

Open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, Daily Chew features Brash Coffee Roasters lattes, espressos, Americanos, and more. Together, Imerman and Brash will open all-day café Brash Kitchen at the Works next year.
