Taste of Atlanta founder Dale DeSena is bringing the party to Sandy Springs. Food That Rocks will be an all-inclusive food and music event that will showcase 25 Sandy Springs restaurants, including il Giallo, Under the Cork Tree, Maya Steaks & Seafood, and 5 Seasons Brewing.

The chefs and mixologists will be under the tent at Hammond Park, serving samples of their favorite menu items and getting to know local residents. “The whole idea is to turn tasters into diners, just like at Taste of Atlanta,” DeSena says. “We want people to come and learn about the restaurants and meet the chefs.”

The 21+ party is scheduled for May 14 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. “There aren’t a whole lot of great nighttime party events in Sandy Springs, and I wanted to show the other neighborhoods that we really are a cool, up-and-coming area. Sandy Springs is so much more than Roswell Road,” DeSena says.

Tickets cost $55 in advance and $65 at the door. A portion of the proceeds benefit Sandy Springs-based charities Second Helpings, Ian’s Friends Foundation, and the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance.
