Come for an espresso. Stay for the songs you didn’t know were on the album. That’s the idea behind Saint Nobody’s, a new café and listening lounge from Black Coffee ATL owner Carl North. Taking over the former Cold Brew Bar space at Atlanta Dairies, the concept pairs a rotating cast of coffee roasters with a music program that gives whole albums—not just their biggest singles—room to play.
Saint Nobody’s is now open in the mornings for coffee and pastries. The full vision will arrive in stages: a savory food menu, cocktails, and evenings when the shades come down, the volume goes up, and music becomes the reason to settle in rather than the accompaniment to a caffeine stop.

North didn’t want Saint Nobody’s to be another version of Black Coffee ATL. He wanted a different aesthetic and a chance to get creative again. He was drawn to the former Cold Brew Bar’s bones and its place in a development already oriented toward music, with a karaoke bar next door and The Eastern nearby. He reworked the seating flow and added a stage, imagining a room that could accommodate both a daytime coffee crowd and an evening audience.
The goal is the feeling of a retro apartment, complete with living and dining areas. Leather couches help set that tone in the 45-seat space; even the stage will hold seating during the day. A photo booth, a bar, and retail offerings that include vinyl and candles round out the offerings.
The coffee program follows the same instinct for variety. Rather than tie Saint Nobody’s to one roaster, North plans to change the espresso offerings weekly. Sey, Onyx, and Portrait are among his picks, while Decatur’s Sleepy Mango supplies the house blend. The menu will have its own musical references, with items named after songs. Seasonal drinks are slated to change every three months. North’s shorthand for the approach is simple: “having fun with coffee.”

Pastries come from local businesses including Flour + Time, The General Muir, and Emerald City Bagels. North also plans a full kitchen program with breakfast sandwiches, an oat bowl, salads, and grain bowls, followed by evening small plates and food that’s easy to eat by hand. An in-house pastry chef is planned too.
What’s coming through the speakers is as much a part of Saint Nobody’s as what’s on the menu. North’s selections range from Alicia Keys’s Songs in A Minor to Fleetwood Mac. The point is to give people the opportunity to hear a record all the way through, including the tracks that rarely escape the shadow of a hit.
“We believe albums are works of art,” North says.
North isn’t limiting the listening program to vinyl: CDs, tapes, and some digital music will also be part of the mix. He doesn’t want Saint Nobody’s boxed into one format. The album matters more than the object that carries it, he says.

During the day, music will play in the background. At night, North plans to turn up the sound. Open mics and live performances are also on the agenda. Saint Nobody’s has applied for a liquor license for 2027, with cocktails that put a different spin on familiar drinks, like margaritas and espresso martinis. Local beer and a continually rotating wine selection are also planned.
The name Saint Nobody’s reflects North’s belief that customers shouldn’t have to be famous to receive good service. He wants to highlight local heroes—the people who matter to their communities even if their names never reach a wider audience.
“The world may never know their name, but doesn’t mean they’re not a saint to me,” he says.
