“Vamos, vamos, vamos, A-T-L!” That chant has likely been stuck in many heads since 10 a.m. this morning, when Atlanta United fans, officials, and of course, the championship team itself, stepped off at Baker and Peachtree streets downtown to celebrate Saturday night’s 2-0 MLS Cup victory over the Portland Timbers. While the wet, chilly weather was less than ideal, nothing could dampen supporters’ spirits as they clapped, chanted, and waved flags past the World of Coke and Georgia Aquarium, down to the College Football Hall of Fame and Georgia World Congress Center, finally arriving home at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for a pep rally that featured Governor Nathan Deal, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Atlanta United owner Arthur Blank, president Darren Eales, coach Tata Martino, and the team. So as you browse through this photo gallery, collected by our editorial team from all along the parade route, feel free to supplement with your favorite chant. “We are the A! From way down south. And we are here. Rowdy and proud!”
