Michael Habachy was presented with a clean slate when a pair of empty-nesters asked him to help them transition from a spacious Morningside house to a Midtown condominium. The freedom that came with this project meant Habachy was able to create numerous custom pieces to anchor spaces throughout the home, recently opened 44-unit One Museum Place.

Open now in a 5,000-square-foot space at ADAC, the Los Angeles-based shop features home collections that put a perfect twist on classic pieces using rare materials, unusual proportions, and artsy details.

The show will remain open, Mondays to Saturdays, through October 20. The event benefits Dwell with Dignity, which identifies deserving families in need and entirely furnishes new homes for them, right down to stocking the refrigerator.

Tim Hobby is back in the furniture business. The veteran Atlanta designer and former retailer has opened a Minotti showroom at ADAC (suite 317). His business partner, Jennifer Astrop, had most recently been independently representing modern furniture lines. Now the two have joined forces and dubbed their new venture Hobby Astrop Modern.

The Texas nonprofit hires a full-time managing director here, completes its tenth metro-area project, and plans to serve more Georgia families.
