Horizon Theatre Company brings NBC’s This is Us Bekah Brunstetter’s new play center stage, a mini puppetry festival at the Center for Puppetry Arts, and the Atlanta Braves annual Star Wars game.

Now in its third year, the Fruit Ramble begins with fruit picking and sampling in Virginia-Highland, followed by carnival games, a raffle, and Orpheus tours.

The free-wheelin’ fruit-tree foragers of Concrete Jungle are settling down—sort of.They still plan to spend their summers biking from tree to tree, gathering unclaimed bounty to donate to folks in need of some fresh fruit. But now they’ll also intentionally grow produce, on land set aside just for them ... that is, once they get it cleared and planted.

The story of Adam, Eve, and the irresistible piece of fruit makes perfect sense to me. I once tried to get a young man to pluck fresh hazelnuts from a tree arching over the tiger enclosure at the zoo in Rome (he wouldn’t, but he married me nevertheless a few months later). I have also watched one of the most educated women I know beg her tall, husky husband to collect a persimmon on a high branch near their house in Lake Claire (he reluctantly submitted to her entreaties).
