Dragon Con 2023 was a Barbiepalooza, and some changes had to be made to accommodate the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Here are the trends and new additions we noticed while attending this year's convention.

Kevin Mobley grew up in South Boston, Virginia, eating macaroni and cheese made by his great-grandmother. Anna Bell lived and gardened on a couple acres of land and got milk from her own cow. He cooked with her but never wrote the recipe down. “Over the past 20-plus years, as an adult, I spent time re-creating that recipe exactly the way that it was,” says Mobley, who runs a tech company by day.

Dragon Con 2022 was a return to form after last year's reduced crowd. Here are the trends, events, and new additions we noticed while attending this year's convention.

BronzeLens Film Festival, a five-day event that gives the big-screen treatment to short films and feature-length movies, spotlights emerging actors and filmmakers of color. It will run from August 21–25 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the Carter Center, and other venues.

On her Douglasville farm, Rodgers Greens and Roots, Ashley Rodgers is completely in her element, wearing khaki shorts, a baggy t-shirt, rubber boots, and covered in manure.

This year's Dragon Con brought a whopping 80,000 people to downtown Atlanta, and as usual, the costumes were impressive, the skybridges were jam-packed, and the Peachtree Center food court was chaotic. Here are some of the trends we noticed this year.
