It’s easy to see why Cook Out, a North Carolina import that opened in East Atlanta this spring, became a colossal hit so quickly. Who doesn’t love a meal combo that includes a corn dog as a side? Or fruit cobbler milkshakes loaded with hunks of pie crust? Given that it’s dirt cheap and open (almost) all night, this is an ideal post-bar destination. But look past all the novelty and you’ll find a cheeseburger with the backyard-grill flavor Burger King wishes it offered. 403 Moreland Avenue, cookout.com
