The owners of Morningside’s classic French restaurant Atmosphere are opening a bakery and gift shop in Ponce City Market in July. Christine and Jean-Marc Metairie are working with Heather Jourdan-Gassin on the project, named for the trendy Parisian neighborhood. The 400-square foot stall will sell imported French gifts like artisan honey and baked goods. “We felt that Atlanta was lacking French restaurants and gastronomy outlets, especially when it comes to bakeries,” says Heather’s husband, Mathieu Jourdan-Gassin. “We felt that a french bakery and pastry shop would be very complimentary to the food court in Ponce City Market.”

Classic French pastries and baked goods, including croissants, baguettes, and a selection of specialty breads, will be baked off site and brought in. The cafe will also serve salads, coffee, and specialty sandwiches such as a croque monsieur. There will also be a variety of dessert options, including an extensive collection of macarons and chocolates.
