Given the current heat index in the city, lengthening the Wells Fargo Advisors Concerts in the Garden series at the Atlanta Botanical Garden into the middle of September sounds positively refreshing. The organizers of the popular live concert series have added singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat to their 2011 Summer line-up with a date scheduled for Friday, September 16 on the Great Lawn stage.
Caillat is perhaps best known for her mid-tempo acoustic guitar-tinged hit “Bubbly” that lodged itself onto the radio (and into our craniums) for the better part of 2007 and 2008. The 26-year-old performer’s show adds some youth to the garden’s Baby Boomer-friendly 2011 roster, highlighted by already sold out shows with Indigo Girls and Emmy Lou Harris.
Caillat’s latest single, “Brighter Than the Sun” is out now in advance of a new album, “All of You,” due to drop July 12. Garden reps tell us the Caillat tickets are on sale now for $39.50 each at the garden gift shop or via TicketAlternative.com (garden members pay only $37.50).
