Atlanta’s vegan options are expanding once again—this time with an Asian flair. Planta Queen, sister to Krog Street Market’s Planta, is located next to Tal Baum’s Carmel in Buckhead Village and promises vegan fare for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Expect Planta favorites like Bang Bang Broccoli, 1,000 Layer Crispy Potatoes, and vegetable sushi, alongside noodles, dumplings, and other wok-friendly dishes.

Calling all Francophiles—the French Market is coming to Buckhead Village. On September 9 from noon to 7 p.m., Buckhead Avenue will be filled with French and French-adjacent vendors showcasing everything from home goods to cheese.

When the Storico team opened Italian focaccia bar concept Yeppa & Co. in February, they knew there was a good chance they’d cannibalize their own business from wine bar Storico Vino nearby. So, they started planning a new restaurant—something vastly different from what they’ve done at Storico Fresco and Forza Storico. Enter Pachengo’s, an elevated Mexican restaurant that will replace Storico Vino in late July.

From Meatless Mondays to dedicated vegans, many Atlantans are opting for more plant-based meals and diets as a way to eat healthier. Planta founder and CEO Steven Salm is here for it. He’s bringing two plant-based restaurants to the city: Planta will replace Watchman’s in Krog Street Market in late June, while Planta Queen moves into Buckhead Village in October.

“It started as a love letter to the coast,” Tal Baum says. “It’s light and airy and welcoming. We want to bring you that sensation of liberation and relaxation [you get] when you’re on the coast.”

Opening February 27 in Buckhead Village, cattycornered from Fetch dog park, Yeppa & Co. is an amalgamation of the passions and experiences of the Storico team, minus Michael Patrick, who is focusing on his cookbook. The result is part-restaurant, part-coffee shop, and part-Formula One cocktail bar.

The 4,400-square-foot space in Buckhead Village will be nearly double the size of the original and will include a 17-seat omakase room. It will feature a more modern design with low lighting, Japanese woodwork, and Binchotan charcoal grills.

You might have noticed that, suddenly, more and more stores you’re used to seeing online have locations in metro Atlanta: Lunya, Rothy’s, Allbirds, Peloton, Lovesac, Framebridge. Ironically, traditionally digital-only brands are discovering the advantages of brick-and-mortar.
