When Hudson Rouse, formerly of Home Grown, and his wife, Kathryn Fitzgerald Rouse, opened this earnest meat-and-three for breakfast and lunch almost two years ago, crowds flocked. Hearty fare included fried trout with cheese grits, vegetables Hudson grows himself, and chicken pot pie. Now, the Avondale Estates restaurant also offers dinner and cocktails plus housemade sodas and cold-pressed juices.
