Feeling Lucky’s? Enter the Roswell burger joint’s Grim Reaper eating contest

2242
If you’ve ever secretly fantasized about your death certificate listing the official cause of your expiration as “hamburger,” have we got a fund-raising contest for you. Lucky’s Burger & Brew in Roswell is celebrating its first anniversary on Sunday, August 7 with a day-long party featuring a doggie wash, live music and $1 burger and brews all to benefit the Golden Retreiver Rescue of Atlanta (Lucky’s is named for owners Ernie and Diane Geyer‘s golden retreiver).

The neighborhood joint is also seeking contestants for its birthday burger eating contest featuring Lucky’s latest addition to the menu, The Grim Reaper. What precisely is The Grim Reaper Burger, you ask? At the risk of recreating the Mr. Creosote restaurant scene from “Monty Python’s Meaning of Life,” Dish will tell you.  The Grim Reaper is constructed with a four-pound all-beef patty, a pound of bacon, a half dozen fried eggs, an order of onion rings, all stacked and layered in a specially made bun with chili cheese Tater Tots on the side. If you can consume all of the above in one hour, you will receive $100 in cash, a $250 Lucky’s gift card, a T-shirt and have your name added to the Lucky’s Top Dogs wall. Organizers tell us you must be 18 to enter and pay a $20 entry fee. To register, go to the Lucky’s Burger & Brew website.

Oh, and FYI: The Grim Reaper eating contest is BYOD. Bring Your Own Defibrillator.
