Say hello to Cakes & Ale’s new bakery offshoot, Proof Bakeshop. Across the street from the Inman Park MARTA station, bakers David Garcia and Abigail Quinn churn out magnificent rustic sourdough loaves, stubby baguettes, and a wide assortment of sweet pastries. Long tables and comfy couches don’t come close to filling the wide, sunlit space. Counter Culture coffee, a magazine from the wall rack, and an open-faced bagel sandwich with smoked salmon would make for a fine morning. Or swing by at lunch for a barely set wedge of quiche and grab dessert for later: a zippy lemon pound cake or a handful of raspberry Linzer tarts with a crumble as fine as the powdered sugar dusted on top. 100 Hurt Street
