Manny’s Grant Park Pub is set to open soon—preview the menu plans

House-made hot pockets, banh mi, and Moscow mule slushies await

Manuel Maloof, a relative of the Manuel’s Tavern founder of the same name, is opening a restaurant and bar at 586 Woodward Avenue in Grant Park at the end of January. Called Manny’s Grant Park Pub, it will serve brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night fare, alongside a full bar menu.

“I’ve been doing this my entire life,” says Maloof, who has worked at his family’s bars in Stone Mountain (now closed) and in Poncey-Highland. “I like the people and the fast-paced aspect.”

The English-American-style pub will seat more than 100 people, including at the 40-foot bar and on the covered patio. There will be a small game room with darts, Golden Tee arcade golf, and possibly ping-pong and Foosball.

“I tried to let the building speak for itself, with exposed brick and a bar made from 100-year-old heart pine from the ceilings, as well as mahogany,” he says, noting that the building dates back to 1923.

Morgan Underwood, formerly of Wisteria, will serve as executive chef. She’s preparing a menu that includes smoothie bowls and grit cakes with sorghum pulled pork and poached eggs for brunch; banh mi with chicken pâte and slow-roasted pork and a flat-top burger for lunch and dinner; and house-made hot pockets at night.

An old cash register sat behind the counter at Manuel’s in Stone Mountain for years. Now, it’ll live behind the bar at Manny’s.

Christy Nixon, of North Highland Pub, is the bar manager. She’ll serve Moscow mule slushies, classic cocktails, and both Old World and New World wines. There will be 24 beers on tap, including Guinness, PBR, and Miller Lite, as well as local craft options from Eventide, Creature Comforts, and Scofflaw Brewing Co. Forty to 50 varieties of bottled beer will also be available.
