The term dog park usually translates to a fenced-in patch of grass and mud, where canines have room to do little but sniff butts. Fortunately for Johns Creek’s four-legged residents, there’s the Newtown Dream Dog Park, opened in 2011 after a local won the first Beneful Dream Dog Park contest. That $500,000 established a puppy playground with bridges, tunnels, and hoops; evergreen and easy-to-clean artificial turf; a walking trail; drinking fountains for pet and owner; and the centerpiece red fire-hydrant sprinkler.
