A vagabond heart still singing: Kodac Harrison’s journey of enduring
Kodac Harrison is the Renaissance man of Atlanta’s music and poetry scenes. He may be best known for the weekly open mic poetry readings he hosted at Decatur’s Java Monkey coffee shop (now The Reading Room) from 2001 to 2016. Harrison, 76, was a prominent member of many bands who performed for Eddie Owen at the Trackside Tavern and then Eddie’s Attic—including the Indigo Girls, Caroline Aiken, Shawn Mullins, and Michelle Malone.
Ponce’s iconic Eats will return at Wild Heaven West End
Eats, the beloved Ponce de Leon restaurant that closed in October after 32 years, is making a comeback. Todd Ginsberg launches Ginsberg’s Refresher food truck at Wild Heaven Beer in Avondale Estates
Chef Todd Ginsberg is known for making some of Atlanta's favorite burgers. He created the masterpiece that blasted Bocado into popularity, developed a juicy version at sandwich shop Fred’s Meat & Bread, and crafted yet another admired variation at his deli the General Muir. Now Wild Heaven Beer at Avondale Estates is getting in on the action. Ginsberg’s food truck, Ginsberg's Refresher, launched May 30 at the brewery, serving double cheeseburgers, an amped up Impossible burger, fried cod sandwich, smoked salmon dip, and a soft pretzel.
El Tesoro serves tacos and mulitas inside Wild Heaven brewery at Lee + White
Edgewood staple El Tesoro opens its second location today—this one inside Wild Heaven's brewery in West End. Located just off the BeltLine, Wild Heaven previously served its own menu of standard bar fare—wings, burgers, and tacos—but “it wasn’t the destination that El Tesoro is,” Wild Heaven president Nick Purdy says. “This is a win for everyone.”
