The latest pickleball venue to open in Atlanta, Painted Pickle offers much more than the tennis-like game. Created by Justin Amick and William Stallworth, the team being the Painted Pin and the Painted Duck, Painted Pickle is a “compeatery” (a word Amick coined to describe the venue's vibe) with live music, lawn games, poker, ping-pong, a putting green, table shuffleboard, and more.

Painted Pin owner Justin Amick is getting close to launching his third project, three years in the making, and it's one he holds near and dear, as he, himself, is a competitive pickleball player. But the Painted Pickle is not just for pickleballers. To Amick, it’s “a high-end competery, gaming, and entertainment venue—a place to compete, eat, drink and be social.”

Like everything Disney, the Immersive Disney Animation experience is upbeat and playful. At one-and-a-half hours, it can get monotonous for adults, but my children never got bored.

The team behind Victory Sandwich Bar is opening a counter-service restaurant near SweetWater Brewing and East Pole Coffee next year. Meanwhile, they've converted LLoyd's on DeKalb Avenue into a pizza parlor.

While the SweetWater plans to add a new centerpiece bar and roll-up doors, the biggest news is that the brewery will add a kitchen, serving a "casual bar menu, designed to pair well with SweetWater brews."

“It’s feeding an area where’s there’s not an abundant amount of food,” owner Jonathan Fox says. “It gives us the opportunity to play with some different menu items we’ve been tinkering with. There will be some surprises.”

On Buckhead’s southeastern edge, a formerly underutilized warehouse district wedged between Peachtree Creek and I-85 is abuzz with new investment.
