The Federal is where to eat before heading to the Fox or any other Midtown destination. Not that it can’t be a destination on its own. This bistro-steakhouse from Shaun Doty and Lance Gummere offers well-sourced, cast iron–seared cuts, as well as some of Doty’s signature dishes, such as his pork schnitzel with onion salad, peanuts, and parsley.
