He has recently opened up Downtown restaurant Alma Cucina, successfully competed for four spots at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and is in the construction phase of his latest venture, Lure, a Midtown seafood restaurant opening this summer in the former Vickery’s spot. Kukler chatted in a recent email interview about what is on the horizon for 2012, the airport ventures, and how his team plans their projects.

This just in: Fifth Group Restaurants confirmed Monday that it will debut a new seafood eatery named Lure in the now-shuttered Vickery's space on Crescent Avenue in Midtown. The group operated by partners Robby Kukler, Steve Simon and Kris Reinhard has purchased the property that once housed the popular casual dining destination and plan to debut Lure in early 2012.

That didn't take long. Unlike a lot of abandoned dining retail space in the city, the former home of high-end Italian eatery Il Mulino (see right) in the One Ninety One building on Peachtree Street downtown has a new tenant.
